Almost June and that means pearl power… Here at The Jewellery Channel our presenters love flitting off to the exotic corners of the world during their time off. The lovely Laura Schofield managed to break herself away from the presenters’ desk and had herself a Vietnamese adventure.
It’s fair to say that Laura fell in love with Vietnam. Who couldn’t, with its rich and diverse culture, fascinating people and overwhelming beautiful countryside?
Here’s a little travel snippet from Laura:
This Indochinese land is also – I discovered – rich in beautiful gemstones and pearls. I found out a little bit more about the latter when I took a bamboo boat to a floating pearl farm in Halong Bay. The calm, still waters of Halong Bay provide just the right environment for cultivating a number of different varieties, including those similar to the Tahitian and Akoya types, and I got the chance to see all the intricate stages of the pearl cultivation process in action.
So do you have some pearl inspiration from Laura’s trip? Make sure you get your pearl power on!
