Rihanna made a splash last week (October 30th) when she attended the 2014 The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) LA Inspiration Gala at Milk Studios in Hollywood. The singer attended the event to honour iconic designer Tom Ford, who is this year's recipient of the amfAR's Inspiration Award.
As she was attending the event to support her designer friend, it is no wonder Rihanna felt the need to go high fashion with her ensemble. The 26-year-old wore an unusual dress that is part of Tom Ford's Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Her flowing white skirt was contrasted with a sheer bodice that featured one of the must-have shades for AW14: purple. This was showcased in the form of crystals that protected her modesty and creates a really abstract style.
She also wore purple in her chunky 90's-inspired platform shoes and glitzy jewellery; managing to be on-trend for this season while also looking ahead to next. The finishing touch to Rihanna's look was diamonds, which she used in abundance to create a rich and glittering ensemble.
It looked like the star was practicing what she sings as she aimed to shine bright like a diamond in a selection of gorgeous white gold and diamond bracelets. She wore several bracelets on her right wrist, teaming thin classic designs – similar to this Diamond Bracelet in Platinum Overlay – with chunkier styles.
The bracelets coupled with a number of diamond rings on the same hand helped her to work the ice queen style and create an over-the-top look that was all about the glitz.
To add a splash of colour and tie in with the purple gems on the dress' bodice, Rihanna wore purple rings on her left hand.
Once again showing that sometimes more really is more, the Pour It Up singer sported three large rings that featured amethyst stones cut surrounded by small diamonds. The rich purple – similar to the colour shown in this stunning Zambian Amethyst and Diamond Ring in Platinum Overlay – showed up beautifully against the flowing white dress and perfectly maintained the colour theme.
While the whole outfit isn't something we would necessarily choose to wear – it's a bit cold for that in the UK! – we can't fault Rihanna's choice in jewellery. Get her look with our gorgeous selection of amethyst and diamond jewellery.
