Sarah Michelle Gellar shows style credentials in effortless monochrome

Monday was the United Way Women’s Summit in LA, which aims to emphasise the power women have to make change. It’s no surprise then that a super powerful woman from the small screen attended the event.

Sarah Michelle Gellar went to the summit to represent her website Foodstirs, which offers child-friendly cooking kits and baking mixes, with co-founders Gia Russo and Galit Laibow. Despite having her website to run and filming the new Cruel Intentions TV series; as well as being a busy mum, Sarah looked fresh-faced and gorgeous as she walked the red carpet.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress opted for a chic monochrome ensemble, which stood out perfectly against Kerry Washington’s colourful outfit as they posed together. She teamed a simple black cami and tailored black jacket with a white textured skirt for a really sophisticated look.

To stop her outfit looking too much like a business suit, Sarah chose a skirt that fell above the knee, with a tea-length overlayer on the top that featured cut-out circles. This added length to the skirt but still showed off her pins perfectly.

Keeping her look simple, Sarah chose subtle jewellery to add just a touch of bling. She wore her newly-dyed brunette locks in a half-up style, which showcased her pretty black and silver stud earrings.

The 39-year-old also opted for a silver bangle – similar to this Rachel Galley Sterling Silver Allegro Bangle – and plain silver ring, which worked really well against the black and white of her outfit.

She finished her ensemble off with subtle, natural makeup and a glossy lip, which kept the whole look light and left her skin glowing.
