Christmas is a special time of year, and for me, giving gifts is nearly as exciting as receiving them. It’s quite simple, women are attracted to shiny, twinkly things and so a present of jewellery will certainly add that additional little bit of excitement and Christmas sparkle. So how do you go about buying the perfect gift? Is it to be a striking statement ring or a delicate, understated diamond necklace?
Carry on reading to make sure you buy the perfect present, because remember, it’s not one size fits all…
Be sure to take in consideration these points when picking out your perfect gift; after all, you do want to make sure you get it right!
First and most importantly, lets talk money, remember your gift doesn’t have to cost the earth. Going completely berserk and way out of your budget won’t make you a happy gift giver, so try to set a budget and stay within it. There are so many elegant TJC options to choose from, so finding something that fits your pocket shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Age is important. The right necklace for your mum may not be the right choice for the woman in your life. Younger girls are probably going to like something more funky and trendy, while mum is going to like a more refined classic piece.
Golden girls or silver sirens. Getting the right metal is key, gold, silver or platinum. Have a look at what jewellery she already has, gauge which she prefers and go with that. If she has a mixture, even better, the choice is yours.
Personality … the girl next door, the fashionista or the conservative. When it comes to buying jewellery, you have to get the personality right. It would be awful for your gift only to be worn for the benefit of you and to be hidden away in a draw on other occasions. It’s no good buying a tomboy pearls, she wouldn’t be caught dead in them. So make sure you look at the person and match their personality with the appropriate style of jewellery (be sure to check out up coming posts).
Rings are tricky, so be careful. Rings are a very personal gift, indicating love and strong relationships, so make sure you are sending the right message. However, if you are going for a ring you need to look at your lovely lady and determine the right style. Big and bold, delicate and elegant or trendy and contemporary. Getting the right size is good too. A ring can always be resized, but there is nothing worse than getting a ring and not being able to wear it until it fits, also it will show that you made an effort it get the ring right.
So there you have it. Make sure you consider all the angles when selecting the right jewellery gift for that special someone, getting it right will mean they will appreciate it better and this Christmas will be all the more special.
