Ascot is one of the world’s most prestigious horse racing events, attended by both new and seasoned racegoers and socialites. Known as an event associated with elegance, all attendees dress up for the occasion in formal dress and gear up for a true ascot experience. But, as many know, choosing what to wear to an event like this can become very daunting, so we have come up with some ideas on how you can add some creative flair to your outfit to fit in with true Ascot tradition but also stand out for the right reasons.
At number one we have pink gems! Pay homage to the new princess by styling your outfits with pink Gemstones. Add some girly glamour with TJC’s ultimate girly gemstones, find everything from pink Sapphire and Opal to Topaz. Jewellery incorporating pink gemstones can go with many floral dresses, and even skirt and trouser suits of any colour (remember there’s nothing wrong with clashing colours and patterns!)
We’ve all seen florals at ascot, so you may be wondering what the difference is. This year’s American yearly socialite event – Met Gala was based around the theme: China- through the looking glass. As predicted we saw oriental florals and crystals all over the red carpet. Switch up your look this year and wear fine floral patterns with an oriental twist and find prints using blossom trees and pink lily motifs – all the celebs are doing it! This is an easy floral to wear as you can also pair with a flower inspired hat and still look stylishly appropriate.
You may have read in our last ‘on trend’ post that summer white clothing is definitely in! Freshen up your looks with bright clean cut clothing, perfect as the weather heats up. Wear an all-white tailored trouser/ skirt suit or fitted dress paired with heels to make a statement.
As Ascot takes place in June it’s fitting that you wear the month’s birthstone – pearl. Here at TJC explore our extensive range of beautiful pearl jewellery perefect for the modern day woman, we combine the elegance and sophistication of such a unique gestone with fabulous deisgn. Another birthstone of June is the magical and lustrous white moonstone – a great alternative but still remains a light reflecting luminescent stone.
A hat, headpiece or fascinator must be worn at all times while in the Royal enclusre and Grandstand, however this is not compulsory for general admission into the Silver Ring. So, if you are going to the Silver Ring this year, and dont want to wear a fancy hat or headpiece, check out our Hair Accessories collection filled with great statement hair combs, clips and bands. Make an entrace in our stand our pieces made with sparkly Austrian Crystals and make a delightful contribution to an annual occasion herald for its classic and sometimes OTT fashion.
