What TJC loves in spring: Statement cuffs

Spring has sprung and we can now look forward to warmer days and an end to multiple layers. Now that March is in full swing and April is promising to be bright and beautiful, we can really start turning our attention towards SS15 trends.

While we've seen a number of great looks emerging in recent weeks, there has been one style that has really caught our eye. Statement cuff bracelets are definitely our look of the season, proving that one style really can rule them all.

Cuff bracelets are one of the most versatile looks of spring, as they are suited to every single fashion that has appeared on the high street and catwalk for the season. From feminine floral frilly dresses to 70s-inspired style, cuff bracelets need to be your go-to jewellery right now.

The style of cuff bracelets ensures that they make a statement even if the design is relatively simple. Metal cuffs are the moment's must-haves, with simple curved pieces in single colours helping anyone to stand out.

However, you can also choose pieces that have a textured element, with embossing, cut-outs and panelled effects all being popular. These looks help to add interest to an ensemble and can create a nice contrast with the flowing fabrics of the warmer months.

As well as the style of the cuff you choose, you also need to decide how many you're going to wear. The look is quite a heavy one, with chunky styles standing out when worn on their own. However, you can also get away with wearing matching cuffs on each wrist for a slightly Grecian-inspired look.

If the rest of your outfit is reasonably simple and you aren't wearing other jewellery, this can be a great choice, while it will also adds an edge to elegant ensembles. It will look particularly good when teamed with gladiator-style sandals – which are another must-have!

For those that want to stick to a single cuff, you may find that wearing matching pieces helps to create a good level of cohesion throughout your outfit. You can find sets that include matching cuff bracelets, collar-style necklaces and earrings – such as this beautiful Jewels of India Brass Embossed Choker, Hook earrings and Cuff bangle set – with each piece working together or as a collective.

However you choose to wear this look for SS15, just make sure you have at least one cuff bracelet in your fashion arsenal right now!
